30 Questions in 30 Days- Catch Up!

So, unexplained illness, paired with sleeping nearly all day has led to me not being as good about posting, so I thought I would do a catch up post :) so here are questions 2-5

2. How did you learn to put on makeup?
I started by watching my mom, who has always been as interested in makeup as I am. My good friend Lindy, who is an unbelievable makeup artist and one of my role models played an insurmountable role in not only my skills in applying makeup, but also my love of makeup. 

3. Favourite brand?
I feel as if my taste in makeup is slowly evolving, where a year ago it would have been MAC hands down, I find myself being much more drawn to Guerlain and Chanel, although my love for Laura Mercier started young. If I had to pick one brand, to use exclusively, I would say Guerlain, because I love all parts of the brand, with Chanel coming in right behind. 

4. Do you like wearing foundation? If so, what's your color and favourite?
I love wearing foundation! I would say my favorites are Laura Mercier Moisturizing Foundation in Warm Ivory, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in a custom mix of BR10 and BR40, Estee Lauder Double Wear Light in Shade 1


I have very odd coloring to my skin. I am technically pink based (I wear MAC NW shades) but since I have so much redness from being so pale and having dry skin, I like to wear more neutral to warm shades to cancel that out and match my neck, which is definitely more warm. 


 5. Favourite lipstick, lip gloss and lip liner?
If I had to pick one of each: Guerlain Kiss Kiss Rose Ingenue 573, Chanel Glossimer in Meteore #128, NYX lip liner in Pale Pink

Lipstick Tag!

This is originally from Beauty's Bad Habit here but I thought it would be great because I have a huge obsession with lip products. Check back tomorrow for the my answers regarding lipgloss!

138 (this is definitely about 10 times more than I need)

I'm fairly sure it was a very light pink Estee Lauder

I would have to say Guerlain, because the packaging and quality is unbeatable, followed by YSL, and MAC

NARS Carthage, YSL Rouge Volupte 27, MAC Angel and Creme D'Nude, Tom Ford Pink Dusk

Favourite nude?
Guerlian Kiss Kiss in Rose Ingenue or Tom Ford in Blush Nude

Favourite peach/ coral?
Tom Ford True Coral, MAC Ever Hip, YSL Rouge Volupte 13 and 26, MAC Sheen Supreme Gotta Dash!

Favourite red?
NARS Jungle Red lip liner for a matte lip, or with a little balm over the top! 

Favourite unusual shade?
Probably MAC Black Knight, or Fashion Mews/ Lavender Whip

Favourite dark shade?
MAC Media, Guerlain Gigilo, NARS Volga Pure Matte-- how could I pick one?

Favourite texture/ finish?
Right now? Glossy sheer mositursing, although I love a good, longwearing creamy matte come fall and winter. I tend to stray away from glitter, although that was not always the case.  

 Other favourites?
Guerlain Rouge Automatique 140, MAC Beigeland, MAC Freshbrew, MAC Love Dust, Guerlain Rouge G Gemma, YSL Pure Shines in general, MAC Blooming Lovely (can you tell I love me some lipstick)

Models Own 50% Off Sale Haul!

So, Models Own is a cosmetics and nail polish company based out of London, who have earned a place in the bloggersphere because of their cheap prices and high quality. They ran a promotion via facebook that after they reached 50,000 page likes they would run a 50% off on their entire catalogue.

I ended up ordering 2 orders, and waited, and waited, and waited. I finally received an email from their customer service saying that my packages had been returned, but that they had repacked it, refunded both of my shipping costs, AND sent it via priority mail. So, I received it today, and I would just like to say that I have been blown away by their customer service! I received a couple doubles, but I'm fairly sure that it is my fault, which is better for you guys! keep a look out for an upcoming youtube giveaway!

30 Days, 30 Questions- Day 1

1. When did you start putting on makeup?

I went to an all girls school, so makeup wasn't an everyday thing for me until after I left high school. I had always loved playing with my mother's makeup, but probably got my first makeup at around 13. I wore Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, some chanel black eyeliner and some light pink blush, with a lipliner/lipstick neutral combo from Chanel.

I dug through all my old photos and found some wonderful photos of my first year or so of wearing makeup!

I'm pretty sure I was around 13 here, and I'm pretty sure this was the first time I had ever worn eyeliner.

this was my first summer in New York. I had begged my mother to let me put purple in my hair, and this was the result. I'm pretty sure I wore this Chanel lipliner/lipstick combo for the first 2 years I wore makeup. I wish I still knew what color this was, as I think its gorgeous.

and finally... this was about 6 months later, heavier on the eyeliner, same pink blush and lipstick.

My New Favorite Look!

Hey guys! I've recently been venturing into green eyeshadow. I've never really worn it, probably because I really detest the color green. However, with my dark brown eyes and blonde hair, I think the green shadow is striking :) Even more than that, I used my wet and wild shadow trios and they are AMAZING. I can't believe the quality for the price.

Cheeks: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, NARS Laguna Bronzer and Albatross Highlighter

Lips: Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lipstick in Rose Ingenue 523

and for a breakdown on the eyes:

I used the Tarte Eye Primer as an all over base, the highlighter shade from Cool as a Cucumber all over the lid, Lid color on the outer V and lower lashes (also on outer 1/3 of the upper lash line) and the crease shade in the crease and the highlighter from the Walking on Eggshells Highlighter shade as a highlight.

LORAC front of the line Pro in a very thin line on upper lash line, Smashbox lash primer, DJV Beautinizer Fiberwig LX

I'm absolutely loving these shadows! I'll probably depot all the ones I have into a Z palette :)

Super Quick NOTD

So I know I said I wasn't going to post today, but I just had to show you guys my latest nail combo. you will have to excuse the awful photo, its almost 2 am in Paris, and I was using my "camera" on my computer.

so the colors are Chanel 521 Rose Cache and Gosh Limited Edition Polish in 001 Lavender Love, although it is obviously NOT lavender at all!

I will post a better picture tomorrow, but it was just too gorgeous not to share!

Beauty Diary Face Masks Review

After reading reviews and watching youtube videos on these little wonder sheets for AGES, I finally caved and searched on evilbay to see what I could find. Seeing as how I was new to not only Beauty Diary, but also sheet masks in general, I wanted to try and find one of the sets with multiple of the masks to try.

I ended up ordering two of the three limited edition Alice in Wonderland, and I could not be happier that I did!

If you aren't familiar with sheet masks, essentially its a fabric sheet soaked in a fluid mask, with holes for your eyes, nose and mouth that you place on your face for up to 30 minutes. I've read different things about post mask etiquette, so to speak, but I like to get the most out of them and rub in the excess fluid until my face is no longer wet.

I usually apply them after cleansing, before moisturizing, and have been using them usually ever other night.

overall I would definitely recommend these, and these have been replacing my usual cream masques since I got them!

My favorites so far: Aloe, Bulgarian White Rose and Black Pearl Powder

also, be wary when buying these off ebay, and make sure to buy from a reputable seller!

I just wanted to share a super quick FOTD I did today to go run errands :) this took about 5 minutes, and is great for those mornings when you have to run out of the door.

Face: Bio Oil as a moisturizer (review coming soon), Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer, Guerlain Terracotta Healthy Glow Foundation

Cheeks: Becca Watermelon Beach Tint

Eyes: MAC Rubenesque paint pot, Blinc Mascara

That's it! I should mention that I used my facial tanner last night, and I find that I use much less makeup with a little color!
